Discover Biblical Archeology Resources to Strengthen Faith

Pastor's Life

“Tim, you’ve done something no one else has been able to do before.” said noted apologetics author and professor Norman Geisler. He referred to how Tim Mahoney demonstrated a powerful pattern of evidence for the Exodus events through film. It showcased the proof of the earlier arrival of Israel in Egypt, the Israelites as slaves in Egypt, evidence of the ten plagues and God’s people leaving Egypt.

Using Biblical Archeology Resources in Ministry

Tim built what one pastor considers the greatest library of photography and film evidence of biblical events. Tim wants to share what he’s discovered to encourage people in their faith through film and resources.

Patterns of Evidence: Tim Mahoney’s Journey

Tim Mahoney, known for his award-winning Biblical archeology documentary film series Patterns of Evidence, has a heart for pastors and church leaders. He studied to be in ministry but his passion for media was leading him in the direction of radio. Through watching the movie The Hiding Place, Tim became interested in film and eventually opened an ad agency using film as his medium. He worked with the Billy Graham’s World Wide Pictures producing, Behind the Scenes television specials to announce the new evangelistic films being released by the ministry.

Faith was not always easy. Tim became the president of the International Christian Visual Media association which led him on a project looking for evidence of biblical events in Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. During his first trip to Egypt Tim experienced his own crisis of faith, like so many others who have questions about the Bible. He persevered his doubting Thomas experience and began finding answers. His resulting Patterns of Evidence films are available to churches as an apologetic tool for young and old.

Supporting Faith with Historical Evidence

Tim realizes he travels to places many pastors and people cannot go or see, and thus develops his Patterns of Evidence documentary films and podcasts to show the world. He also believes that God gave people the gift of literacy to be free and to realize that what He gave Moses was so profound the way for generations to know was through writing that has been preserved. Old texts and extrabiblical sources confirm Moses and biblical events, as well as the ability of the development of the alphabet at that time period.

Free Biblical Archeology Resources for Pastors

Free resources are available for pastors to use related to films he has produced. Experts developed sermons to accompany studies on Exodus and the letters to the seven churches of Revelation. These resources currently available for free along with many photos:

More sermons and materials will be available as they are developed including photography, short clips, and animations of biblical evidence pastors will be able to use in sermons and Bible studies.

Hosting Movie Events on Biblical Archeology in Church

Tim also offers movie event kits that churches can use to engage their congregations and communities. These also make good fund raisers and include a one-year license for unlimited showings, movie event guide, walk-in countdown, after-how materials for discussions, movie poster, memes, and movie trailers. There is a charge depending on estimated audience size. This allows churches to offer high-quality experiences for connecting people to biblical events and opening conversations about faith.

New Projects from Patterns of Evidence

Tim is always working on multiple projects. Currenting that includes The Israeli Dilemma with great interview footage with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It explores God’s covenant in the Old Testament and what it means today. Check out the podcast titled Update on Patterns of Evidence: The Israel Dilemma.

Another project, The American Miracle, is a movie experience that weaves in voices of experts, to showcase early American history and the faith and miracles that formed the foundation of our nation. Actors include Kevin Sorbo, Nicole C. Mullens, Pat Boone, and others. He hopes this wil help people, especially younger people, to understand this country was no accident and see God’s hand in the lives of our founders.

Experts share the truth about early Americans and lay out facts such as the founding father’s views on sin and their desire to create a government built on God’s principles. It releases in 2025. Resources are being developed now for pastors and leaders to talk about freedom and faith.

Tim is a thinker who invites others on his quests to investigate the evidence he finds. Use the resources he creates to generate discussions about faith in your church and community.
