“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them— not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.”

1 PETER 5 :2

Recite God’s Goodness

You, Jesus, are the head of Your church. I praise You that You continue to shepherd us through our local church leaders. You have been so good to provide all we need!

Express Your Neediness

Lord, I pray for the pastor, elders, deacons, Sunday school teachers, and other staff who serve in my local church. Give them undivided hearts to love You above all, humility to die to self, and wisdom to equip the saints for Your work in our communities. Protect them from the temptations of greed, pride, power, and illicit sex. Grant them endurance and joy in their ministry to be faithful to the end.

Seek His Stillness

Sit quietly with God. Is there anything He wants to say to you?

Trust His Faithfulness

Lord Jesus, You’re committed to purifying Your people for Yourself, so I entrust my church’s leadership to You. Give me the grace to joyfully submit to them and encourage them, confident that You will accomplish Your work in our local communities and around the world.
