Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls. (Psalm 42:7a NIV)

Tourists standing inches apart on the platform overlooking Niagara Falls have to shout to be heard. Lovers, however, can be yards apart and understand each other instantly with but a meeting of the eyes.

Words are unnecessary; “deep calls to deep” from the depths of their hearts. There is a voice that sounds like thunder to those who do not know God. It is unintelligible and dismissed. But, to the heart longing after Him it is a still small voice saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; you are the apple of my eye” (Jer. 31:3; Zech. 2:8). God waits for you above the tumult of troubles that overwhelm your soul. Let your eyes meet His. Words will be unnecessary. Deep will speak to deep.
